YCT at Hillel Conference
June 24, 2016
On June 14–16, Hillel International held an Educators’ Kallah at the Pearlstone Conference & Retreat Center in Reisterstown, Maryland. First held in the summer of 2015, the conference provides Hillel educators from across the country an opportunity to come together to share ideas and best practices. This year’s conference also featured guest speakers Rabbi Irwin Kula and Rabbi Lisa Goldstein, who spoke about pluralism and spirituality, respectively. Breakout sessions interspersed throughout the conference covered topics particularly relevant to today’s campus community. These included Israel, mourning, and engagement.
YCT had a strong presence at the conference, with several graduates and current students in attendance. Aaron Potek ’13 was invited to lead one of the sessions, and Ben Shefter ’16, Dani Passow ’12 (not pictured), Daniel Epstein ’16, Daniel Blumenthal Hoffman ’17, and Drew Kaplan ’09 were also present.
