David Pernick
Director of LGBTQ+ Initiatives
David hails from Rockland County, NY. He is a graduate of Tufts University and a current Masters of Social Work candidate at Stony Brook University. He seeks to specialize in supporting Jewish, youth, queer and refugee populations through mental health challenges. This pursuit was inspired by David’s own experiences as a gay observant Jew and grandchild of Holocaust Survivors, as well as his years of supporting queer youth in crisis on the Trevor Project Lifeline. He joined YCT to help build a space where LGBTQ+ people can find deep meaning and full belonging in Orthodox Judaism. In his free time, he enjoys discovering new music and theatre, playing on a baseball team and spending quality time with his friends and family.
