Rabbi Kenneth Birnbaum
Chair of the Performing Arts Department & Grade Level Dean, SAR High School
Kenny was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. He received his BA in music education from Queens College, CUNY and an MA from Teachers College, Columbia University. Kenny also received a certificate in conflict resolution from the Morton Deutsch International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution at Teachers College. Kenny is a faculty member of SAR High School where he currently serves as the Chair of the Performing Arts Department and Grade Level Coordinator (Grade Dean) looking after the social, emotional and academic development of the freshman class. The founder of the Nashir Choral Festival for Jewish Day Schools, Kenny teaches classes in music and Torah in addition to facilitating daily tefila. He also serves as a congregational rabbi for the High Holidays at Flatbush Park Jewish Center in Brooklyn. He currently lives in White Plains with his wife, Lisa, and three children.
